Maximum Load a Stretch Wrapper Handles

June 13, 2026 — Lê Văn Thăng

Maximum load for a stretch wrapper: rated load by model (1,500-2,500 kg), why dynamic load exceeds static, overload consequences, and robots for 2t+.

Maximum Load a Stretch Wrapper Handles

Reviewed and updated by ICD - Week 24/2026

Quick summary:

  • Semi-automatic turntables: 1,500-2,000 kg rated load (by model).
  • Fully automatic turntables: 2,000-2,500 kg (high-end models).
  • Mobile robot (Robopac): no load limit - the pallet stays on the floor.
  • Over 2 tonnes: choose a robot, not a turntable.

Maximum load a stretch wrapper handles

Maximum load is the most important spec when choosing a pallet wrapper. Choosing a machine rated below your actual load not only wears it out fast - it is dangerous, because an overloaded turntable can fail seriously. This guide explains rated load by machine type and how to choose right. See the full machine range.

Understanding turntable load rating

A turntable’s “maximum load” is the most a pallet plus goods can weigh and still spin safely. It is not the static weight (set on a non-spinning table) - when the table turns, centrifugal force creates a dynamic load larger than the static one. A 1,800 kg pallet sits fine statically, but at 10 rpm the force on the drive and bearings is significantly higher - which is why makers cap the safe operating load.

Rated load by ICD model

Model Max load Best for
Y1650F (basic semi-auto) 1,500 kg Consumer goods, light-medium electronics
T1650F (standard semi-auto) 2,000 kg Varied logistics, heavy goods (cement, brick, equipment)
2000BF (high-end auto) 2,000-2,500 kg Distribution centers, large 24/7 factories
Robopac TP3 (mobile robot) No limit Very heavy and special goods

The robot has no practical load limit - the pallet stays on the floor and its weight is borne directly by the warehouse floor, not a turntable. See wrapping robot vs wrapping machine.

What happens when you exceed the rated load

Overloading is not just “slower wrapping.” Real consequences: the drive belt slips or snaps; the turntable bearing wears abnormally fast (failing in 1-2 years instead of 5-8); the motor overheats and the inverter’s thermal protection keeps cutting power; and in the worst case the turntable tilts or topples carrying an over-heavy pallet at speed. The machine does not warn you it is overloaded - many warehouses run overloaded for months and only discover it when the machine fails suddenly.

Very heavy goods: the right solution

If a warehouse regularly handles pallets of 2,000-5,000 kg (equipment, machinery, heavy industrial materials), a mobile wrapping robot is the only safe solution. The pallet does not move and there is no centrifugal force - the load is limited only by the floor’s strength. See the price guide to weigh options.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is rated load the same as static weight?

No. Rated load is the safe spinning weight; centrifugal force at speed makes the dynamic load higher than the static one.

What if my pallets exceed 2 tonnes?

Use a mobile robot - it has no turntable load limit, bounded only by the floor’s strength.

What happens if I overload a turntable?

Belt slip/snap, fast bearing wear, motor overheating, and in the worst case the turntable tipping - often unnoticed until sudden failure.

Which model fits most warehouses?

The T1650F at 2,000 kg balances load, features and price for varied logistics.
