The Xilin 2.5-tonne wide-fork low-lift hand pallet truck (BF-III range) has a 685 mm overall width across the forks, a 365 mm inner gap between the forks, lifts 2,500 kg and weighs 56 - 70 kg. The other two versions in the range are 550 mm (230 mm inner gap) and 520 mm (200 mm inner gap); all three are separate truck versions, not one truck whose forks can be spread wider.
ICD Vietnam distributes the truck as a genuine product from Ningbo Ruyi (Xilin), with a 12-month warranty. This guide helps you choose the right fork width for the pallets you use, because choosing the wrong width is the most common reason a truck will not fit into a pallet’s openings. When your loads regularly exceed 2.5 tonnes, see the ICD WB 5-tonne wide-fork low-lift hand pallet truck.
Specifications of the 2.5-tonne BF-III low-lift hand pallet truck
The table below comes from the BF-III (Premium Type) spec page of Ningbo Ruyi. The 1,150/1,220 pairs correspond to the two fork lengths; the turning radius and aisle width change with fork length, not with overall width.
| Specification | Value per Xilin |
|---|---|
| Rated capacity | 2,500 kg |
| Own weight | 56 - 70 kg |
| Fork height lowered | 75 - 85 mm |
| Maximum lift height | 185 - 195 mm |
| Steering wheel | φ180 mm |
| Load wheels | φ74 x 93 mm (single) or φ74 x 70 mm (double) |
| Fork length | 1,150 / 1,220 mm |
| Overall width across forks | 520 / 550 / 685 mm |
| Turning radius | 1,276 / 1,346 mm |
| Aisle width for a 1,000 x 1,200 mm pallet placed crosswise | 1,743 / 1,813 mm |
ICD Vietnam’s product page lists inner gaps between the forks of 200, 230 and 365 mm for the three overall widths of 520, 550 and 685 mm, and also lists shorter fork lengths of 800 - 1,100 mm. If you need a short fork size or the wide-fork version in stock, ask ICD Vietnam before ordering to confirm the configuration.

685 mm or 550 mm forks: choose by pallet
A 685 mm width is the common size for 1,000 x 1,200 mm and 1,016 x 1,219 mm pallets, while a Euro pallet of 800 x 1,200 mm entered from its 800 mm side needs a 520 - 550 mm truck. According to a fork-selection guide from an equipment sourcing platform, a truck with a 680 mm overall width cannot enter the 800 mm side of a Euro pallet, whereas a 540 mm truck fits both the 800 mm side and the 1,000 mm side of a 1,000 x 1,200 mm pallet with a tighter clearance.
| Pallet | Common overall width across forks | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Euro 800 x 1,200 mm (entered from the 800 mm side) | 520 - 550 mm | A 685 mm truck cannot enter the 800 mm side |
| 1,000 x 1,200 mm, 1,016 x 1,219 mm | 685 mm (550 mm still fits, with a tighter clearance) | 685 mm is the default size for this pallet type |
| 1,100 x 1,100 mm | 550 or 685 mm | Choose by the actual distance between the two openings |
These are common sizes, not a substitute for measuring: use a tape to measure the distance from the outer edge of one opening to the outer edge of the other and the width of each opening, then compare with the overall width across the forks and the roughly 160 mm width of each fork. Plastic pallets with wide feet or pallets with offset bearers need to be measured type by type.
The trade-off of the wide-fork version
The forks are 135 mm wider than the 550 mm version, so the truck needs more room at doors, between racks and on a truck bed, but the turning radius and aisle width in Xilin’s table do not change with width. Those two figures change with fork length: 1,276 mm with 1,150 mm forks and 1,346 mm with 1,220 mm forks. So the question when choosing the 685 mm version is whether the truck fits through the narrowest points on its route, not whether it needs more room to turn around.
The 2,500 kg capacity is a limit that must not be exceeded, counting the pallet and packaging. Place the load’s centre of gravity between the forks, push the load in to the full fork length and lift only enough to clear the floor when travelling. A hydraulic hand truck pushed and pulled by human effort does not need an inspection under Circular 36/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, because that list only covers motorised forklifts of 1,000 kg and above.

Frequently asked questions about wide-fork low-lift hand pallet trucks
1. How much does a 2.5-tonne wide-fork low-lift hand pallet truck weigh?
According to Xilin, the BF-III range weighs 56 - 70 kg depending on configuration; the spec table does not break it down by fork width.
2. Can the 685 mm forks be spread wider?
No. 685 mm is the fixed overall width of the wide-fork version, and the inner gap between the forks is 365 mm. The 550 mm version has a 230 mm inner gap and the 520 mm version a 200 mm gap, so you need to choose the right version when ordering.
3. Does a 685 mm truck fit a Euro pallet of 800 x 1,200 mm?
It does not fit the 800 mm side of a Euro pallet, because the openings on that side are narrower than the overall width across the forks. A Euro pallet needs a 520 - 550 mm truck. A 685 mm truck can only enter from the 1,200 mm long side, and that leaves most of the load hanging outside the forks, so it should not be used that way.
4. What warranty does the Xilin 2.5-tonne hand pallet truck have?
ICD Vietnam gives a 12-month warranty on Xilin forklifts. Beyond the warranty period, ICD offers forklift repair; send the truck model and the symptoms to get advice.
5. Can I buy a wide-fork hand pallet truck on instalments?
ICD Vietnam offers instalment purchases. Call the hotline for the terms and to get a quote by fork width, fork length and quantity.
