Solid Plastic Bins

Solid plastic bins have closed walls and a closed base, so small parts, loose goods and dry food stay inside and dust stays out. ICD Vietnam lists 19 solid bin models, from the A6 tray at 238×152×124 mm (25,000 VND) to the 855121 airport luggage container at 850×515×210 mm (250,000 VND).

Most models are moulded from virgin PP or HDPE, and the A3CT, B12, HA001, YM003 and YM006 come in blue, green, red and yellow. Buyers usually order by model code or outside size, so pick the base and height first, then check the inside size, stacking load, lid and price.

1. Solid plastic bin models, sizes and prices

All 19 models are listed below by base area, from smallest to largest, with single-unit list prices before volume discounts.

Produce, seafood and anything that must drain are better served by vented mesh crates. Crates, trays, lidded containers and tanks are all grouped on ICD’s industrial plastic crates and bins page.

2. Outside size, inside size and real capacity

The size in each model name is the outside size, including the rim and wall ribs, so the usable space is smaller. The B8 bin (520×424×220 mm outside) measures 480×392×215 mm inside, 40 mm shorter and 32 mm narrower. Check goods that must fit against the inside size; use the outside size for racks, pallets and truck beds. Capacity follows the same rule: the B8 holds about 40 litres, 83% of the volume implied by its outside size. Inside sizes of common models are in a lookup table of crate sizes. The 480-150 logistics bin sits on a 478×378 mm base, 150 mm high, at 115,000 VND.

3. Stacking load and heavy-duty bins

The bottom bin carries the whole stack. ICD’s guidance for virgin PP bins is 6-8 tiers at 20-25°C and 5-6 tiers above 35°C or with heavy goods; check with the technical team before stacking higher or using bins in cold rooms.

For heavy goods in a mid-size bin, the HA001 reinforced bin (480×380×200 mm) has ribs up to 10 mm thick and weighs about 2.5 kg empty, at 130,000 VND. HP-series walls are 20-30% thicker than standard bins; the HP5C heavy-duty bin (400×300×148 mm) costs 140,000 VND.

Choose the HP series when:

• Goods regularly weigh more than 30 kg per bin.
• The store runs below 5°C or above 40°C.
• Bins are handled by machines and take frequent impacts.
• Stacks go higher than 8 tiers.

Light goods at room temperature do not need it. For freezer rooms, read whether HDPE or PP holds up better below zero.

4. Lidded or open-top solid bins

Most solid bins are sold open-top. Three euro containers come with a matching lid: the 600-147 at 145,000 VND, the lidded euro container 600-230 at 165,000 VND and the 600-280 at 185,000 VND, so at 600×400×147 mm the lid adds about 30,000 VND. The A3CT, B12, HA001, YM003 and YM006 take an optional lid, logo printing, card holders and dividers.

Choose a lid when goods must stay free of dust, insects and moisture in long storage or on trucks; open bins suit production lines and picking racks. Clip-lid totes of 10-220 litres are in the lidded plastic crates range.

5. Typical uses of solid plastic bins

Electronics plants keep screws and small parts in solid bins; the A6 tray has an open front for rack picking. Euro containers on a 400×300 mm base, such as the EU 4316 and the EU 4322 euro container, fit eight to a layer on a 1200×800 mm pallet.

Rice and dry food keep best in lidded virgin plastic bins off the floor; see whether rice is safe in plastic containers. The 855121 airport luggage container weighs 2.38 kg and nests when empty.
