Solid plastic bins have closed, solid walls and base that contain small, loose or wet contents and wipe clean – the workhorse tote for general logistics, textiles, footwear and damp goods. ICD moulds them in PP and HDPE, sizes from 432x320x230 to 605x430x280 mm, with contents load 25-55 kg and stack load to 280 kg. Choose solid bins when:
- Small or loose items: closed walls stop parts, fasteners and offcuts spilling.
- Wet or washdown goods: the solid base holds liquid and washes clean.
- Dust-sensitive contents: textiles, garments and finished parts stay clean.

2. Solid vs mesh – which wall do you need?
The wall decides containment versus ventilation. A solid bin holds everything in: small parts, powder, liquid spills and dust stay inside, and the closed base catches drips – ideal for fasteners, garments, finished goods and washdown lines. A mesh crate trades containment for airflow and drainage – right for produce and wet goods that must breathe and shed water, but useless for fine parts that fall through.
Rule of thumb: if the contents are small, dry-sensitive or wet-but-contained, choose solid; if they must drain or stay cool with air movement, choose mesh. For wall thickness, the 3.5 mm HP3B suits dense, heavy parts; thinner walls suit lighter, higher-rotation handling.

1. Are solid bins washable and food-grade?
PP and virgin HDPE versions are washable; PP is FDA food-grade and tolerates 85C wash. Confirm grade for food use.
2. How high do they stack?
To 280 kg stack load by size; lidded versions stack higher and more securely.
3. PP or HDPE bin?
PP for general logistics and food; HDPE for chemicals and deep freeze (-40C).
4. Do they fit pallets?
EU-footprint bins stack on Euro 1200×800 and US 1200×1000 pallets in modular layers.
