Three-runner plastic pallets have three parallel skids underneath instead of nine feet, giving long clear channels that hand pallet trucks and 2-bar beam racks love. ICD moulds them in HDPE at 1100×1100, 1200×1000 and 1200×800 mm, with dynamic load 1,000 kg, static load 3,000 kg and beam-rack load 800 kg. The runners give 2-way fork entry along the open sides. Choose three-runner pallets when:
- Hand pallet trucks are the main handler: the long open runners let truck wheels roll fully under and exit cleanly.
- 2-bar beam racking: the runners sit squarely across both beams for stable, predictable support.
- Floor stacking and block storage: the skid base spreads load evenly on the floor.

2. Runner layout and hand-truck entry – getting it right
The reason three-runner pallets pair so well with hand pallet trucks is the clear, unobstructed channel between skids. A standard hand truck has a fork spread around 520-680 mm and wheels at the fork tips; the runner gap must let those wheels roll fully under the load and drop clean. Confirm the entry side: a three-runner pallet is 2-way (forks enter along the two open sides only), so orient pallets in the aisle so the open side faces the truck.
For beam racking, the runners must span front-to-back so each runner rests on both beams. Loading a 2-way pallet the wrong way – runners parallel to the beams instead of across them – leaves the deck unsupported and is a common cause of mid-deck sag.

1. Are three-runner pallets 2-way or 4-way?
2-way – forks enter along the two open sides. For 4-way entry from any direction, choose a 9-foot or cross-pattern warehouse pallet.
2. Are they good for hand pallet trucks?
Yes – the open runner channels are designed for hand-truck wheels to roll under and drop clean.
3. Can they go on beam racking?
Yes, up to 800 kg per position, with the runners spanning across both beams. Load them the wrong way and the deck will sag.
4. Which material?
HDPE for toughness and cold tolerance. For sub-zero racking, confirm virgin HDPE.
