Danpla Sheet Dimensions: Standard Sizes, Thickness and Selection Guide

Reviewed and updated by ICD - Week 38/2026

Danpla (PP corrugated) sheets are produced to a standard international size of 1220 x 2440 mm in four thicknesses: 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm. The dimensional tolerance is plus or minus 3 mm on length and width, and plus or minus 0.2 mm on thickness. Custom cut sizes are available from 50 sheets. This guide gives the complete specification table, weight by thickness, flute direction notes, and a quick selection framework for 3 mm vs 4 mm vs 5 mm.

Standard Danpla sheet sizes

Danpla sheets are manufactured to international standard dimensions that match industrial cutting and fabrication lines:

Sheet format Dimensions (mm) Common applications
Full sheet (standard) 1220 x 2440 Wall panels, warehouse floor liners, large partitions
Half sheet 610 x 1220 Carton box liners, small partitions
Quarter sheet 610 x 610 Component trays, cushioning pads
Custom cut To order Danpla boxes, custom trays, partitions

Note: The dimensional tolerance on length and width is plus or minus 3 mm. This is the industry standard tolerance and must be accounted for in technical drawings when precision fabrication is required.

Thickness and weight table

Thickness directly affects load-bearing capacity, shipping weight, and cost. The table below gives a quick comparison for a full 1220 x 2440 mm sheet:

Thickness Weight per sheet (1220 x 2440 mm) Load capacity Typical applications
2 mm ~600 g Light Box partitions, protective cover sheets
3 mm ~900 g Medium Danpla boxes, tray liners, component trays
4 mm ~1,200 g Good Industrial boxes, medium-load partitions
5 mm ~1,500 g High Warehouse floor panels, high-load wall panels

Flute (hollow channel) dimensions

Danpla sheets have a parallel-tube hollow structure (flute). Flute size affects stiffness and the ease of bending:

  • Flute channel width: 3-4 mm (standard)
  • Flute direction: parallel to the length of the sheet (the 2440 mm dimension) - important to note when folding
  • Folding perpendicular to flute: easy, produces a sharp clean crease
  • Folding parallel to flute: more difficult, requires heat or a score cut

When designing boxes or partitions from Danpla sheet, flute direction is a key technical factor that affects the folding process and joint strength.

How to calculate the number of sheets required

A simple formula to calculate how many full sheets (1220 x 2440 mm) you need:

Number of sheets = Total area to cover (m2) divided by 2.977 (m2 per sheet)

Add 5-10% for cutting waste. For orders of 3 mm, 4 mm, or 5 mm Danpla sheet in volume, contact ICD Vietnam for a quantity-based quotation.

3 mm vs 4 mm vs 5 mm - which to choose?

This is the most common question when placing an order. The quick selection guide below covers the majority of B2B use cases:

  • 3 mm: The most popular choice, offering the best balance between stiffness and cost. Suitable for electronic component boxes and light products under 5 kg.
  • 4 mm: When medium load capacity is needed (5-15 kg), when partitions require higher rigidity, or when the box or panel is large in format.
  • 5 mm: Heavy-duty applications, warehouse floor panels, and environments with frequent impact. Highest cost in the group.

3 mm Danpla sheet accounts for approximately 60% of B2B market demand in Vietnam, thanks to its all-round performance and competitive price point.

Dimensions for coloured and anti-static Danpla sheets

In addition to the standard white sheet, specialty grades are available in the same standard footprint:

  • Blue (coloured): 1220 x 2440 mm, thickness 3-5 mm
  • Black (standard): 1220 x 2440 mm, thickness 2-5 mm
  • Black anti-static (ESD): 1220 x 2440 mm, thickness 3-5 mm, surface resistance 10^3 to 10^6 ohm
  • Clear (transparent): 1220 x 2440 mm, thickness 2-4 mm

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I order Danpla sheet in a custom size?

Yes. ICD Vietnam accepts custom cut orders from 50 sheets and above. The cutting tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm using CNC equipment.

2. Will a 1220 x 2440 mm full sheet fit in a standard delivery truck?

Yes, it fits in a 1.5-tonne truck or larger (minimum 2.5 m cargo box length). For smaller vehicles, order the half-sheet format at 610 x 1220 mm.

3. Do dimensions change by colour?

No. All colours are produced to the standard 1220 x 2440 mm footprint.

4. Does thickness affect water resistance?

Not significantly. Water resistance in Danpla sheet depends on the PP material, not the thickness. All thicknesses are fully waterproof.

5. What is the weight of a 3 mm Danpla sheet?

A 3 mm full sheet (1220 x 2440 mm) weighs approximately 900 g. A 4 mm sheet weighs approximately 1,200 g and a 5 mm sheet approximately 1,500 g.

6. Which thickness is most commonly used in B2B applications?

3 mm is the most popular, accounting for approximately 60% of B2B demand in Vietnam. It delivers the best balance of stiffness, weight, and cost for electronic components, light goods packaging, and reusable tray systems.
