The ESD-DANPLA-05 is a 5 mm corrugated plastic (PP) sheet - the thickest gauge in ICD's standard Danpla range. Made in Vietnam from virgin polypropylene, each 1220 x 2440 mm sheet weighs about 1500 g and delivers the highest bending stiffness in the line, supporting boxes carrying up to 25 kg. It suits heavy-duty logistics, machinery production and demanding storage.

2. Applications & Key Advantages

  • Warehouse floor and shelf panels that bear high point loads without sagging, allowing wider spans between supports
  • Container and pallet base liners that protect goods from floor moisture and withstand high stacking weights, with a typical service life of 3-4 years
  • Load-bearing dividers for warehouse or production zones that stay rigid and vibration-free under stacked goods
  • Heavy-duty boxes for mechanical components, cast parts and items over 15 kg per box, resisting cracking or deformation in transit
  • Temporary acoustic or thermal panels in construction, able to take mechanical impact
  • Display platforms for heavy products in supermarkets and showrooms where rigidity signals quality
  • Highest bending stiffness in the standard Danpla line thanks to the three-layer PP corrugated structure
  • Distributes load better than 3 mm or 4 mm sheets, ideal where pressure comes from multiple points at once
  • Replaces costlier materials such as ABS or rigid PVC while keeping weight reasonable
  • Available in white, blue and black (with a black ESD option)

4. Frequently Asked Questions

For a warehouse floor, should I choose 5 mm or 4 mm?

If supports are widely spaced or the floor carries heavy concentrated loads, 5 mm is the safer choice for its higher stiffness. Where supports are closer together and loads are moderate, 4 mm is usually enough and more economical.

Is 5 mm Danpla hard to fold by hand?

Yes - it is much stiffer than 3 mm or 4 mm. For hand or semi-automatic box making you should add a score line so the panel folds cleanly. Without scoring, the sheet can crack at the fold.

How much does a finished box weigh?

Each 5 mm sheet weighs around 1500 g, so a box built from four to six sheets can weigh roughly 6-9 kg empty. Always factor box weight plus cargo into your total load calculation.

Is 5 mm always in stock?

Stock can be more limited than the popular 3 mm gauge. For large orders it is best to confirm availability before ordering.

Can the sheet be cut or machined to size?

Yes. CNC cutting and bending are available, though 5 mm takes longer to process than thinner gauges. ESD test reports and VAT invoices can be provided for business orders.
