Xilin is the forklift brand of Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd. (Ninghai, Zhejiang, China), founded in 1985, which specializes in hand pallet trucks, electric trucks, high-lift hand trucks, reach trucks and lift tables, with more than 500 models rated from 500 kg to 10,000 kg. The company states that its products are sold in more than 135 countries and territories. ICD Vietnam distributes Xilin forklifts in Vietnam and applies a 12-month warranty to them.
This guide is for anyone considering a Xilin forklift for the first time: who the manufacturer is, which trucks it is strongest in, which models ICD Vietnam has available and when to choose another type instead of a hand pallet truck. Common types of forklifts and their uses
Forklifts fall into three main groups by power source: manual hand pallet trucks, battery electric trucks and internal combustion trucks. Understanding these three groups lets you narrow your needs before asking for a price, and avoid buying equipment with too much capacity or too little lift height.
1. Hand pallet trucks (manual trucks)
This is the basic type of truck, run entirely by human effort: pump by hand to lift, pull or push to move. A low-lift hand truck only raises the pallet about 200 mm off the floor to pull it away, so it can carry large loads: the Xilin series ICD Vietnam sells are rated from 2 tonnes (DB) to 5 tonnes (WB). A high-lift hand truck adds a mast to put the pallet on racking, with a lighter capacity of about 500 - 2,000 kg and a lift height of 1.5 - 3 m depending on the model (SDJ, SDJA, SDJAS, SJJA20E).
The advantages of this group are low investment, a simple build, ease of use and easy maintenance: most faults lie in the seals and oil of the hydraulic pump unit, the wheels and the fork pins.
2. Electric trucks
Electric trucks use an electric motor and battery in place of human effort for travel, lifting or both. ICD Vietnam’s catalog includes low-lift electric trucks (CBD15W-E rated 1,500 kg, the CBD20R-II stand-on model), electric high-lift hand trucks (ES15-15ES rated 1,500 kg with a maximum lift of 3,315 mm; CDD15RE, CDDK12), the CQDH18C reach truck rated 1,800 kg lifting to 3,500 mm, the OPD15 side loader for long loads and the CPD05W counterbalance truck rated 500 kg.
Electric trucks suit warehouses with high racking and continuous work through the shift, and produce no exhaust, so they work well in factories and food stores. A legal note: motor-driven forklifts with a capacity of 1,000 kg or more are on the list that must be inspected under Circular 36/2019/TT-BLDTBXH.
3. Internal combustion trucks
Internal combustion trucks run on petrol, diesel or gas. They have high power and are ideal for outdoor work, yards or factories with heavy loads. ICD Vietnam’s range does not currently include this group and focuses on Xilin hand pallet trucks, electric trucks and lift tables.

About the Xilin forklift brand
Xilin is the brand of Ningbo Ruyi, a company founded in 1985 in Ninghai County, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. According to the company’s profile page, Ruyi started from a small workshop, grew on hand pallet trucks and now calls itself the global “king of hand pallet trucks”. In February 2025 the company marked its 40th anniversary.
The Xilin range it publishes covers hand pallet trucks and low-lift electric trucks, manual and electric high-lift hand trucks, reach trucks, order pickers, lift tables, tow tractors and counterbalance trucks, with more than 500 models from 500 kg to 10,000 kg. The company’s Chinese-language site also lists specialist series: cold storage, explosion-proof, narrow-aisle warehouse trucks and AGVs.
A few milestones the company itself publishes on its history page show its scale and direction:
- 2001: made its first electric truck.
- 2002: hydraulic hand pallet truck output reached 500,000 units a year; the company says it exported more than 150,000 hand pallet trucks that year, the most among China’s hand pallet truck exporters.
- 2013: the first company in the warehouse equipment industry to have its products recognized as exempt from inspection for export.
- 2015: the CBD15W mini electric truck won Germany’s Red Dot and iF design awards; the CDD10R-E electric high-lift hand truck won both awards as well.
- 2018: a second factory came into operation, specializing in low-lift electric trucks and electric high-lift hand trucks.
- 2022: recognized as a national enterprise technology center.
In its home market, Ningbo Ruyi is a vice-chair unit of China’s national technical committee for industrial truck standardization and has more than 200 sales and service points. Internationally, the company says it works with more than 200 overseas distributors and that the Xilin trademark is registered in 68 countries and territories.
Where Xilin forklifts are strong
Xilin’s clearest strength is depth in hand pallet trucks and warehouse electric trucks, rather than spreading into large forklifts. Three concrete grounds can be checked in the company’s documents and on the truck itself:
Specialization in hand pallet trucks since the 1990s. An output of 500,000 hand pallet trucks a year from 2002 means the pump unit, forks and wheels have been built and revised through many generations. The BF-III uses a one-piece cast pump body with no welds and has an overload valve; the DF-III has a chrome-plated piston and lift rod; the 5-tonne WB lifts twice as fast on its own when the load is under 600 kg, according to the descriptions on the company’s specification pages.
A stated design standard. The BF-III specification sheet states conformity with EN ISO 3691-5, the part of the ISO 3691 series that covers pedestrian-propelled trucks. Ningbo Ruyi also takes part in drafting industrial truck industry standards in China.
A range wide enough to grow into. A warehouse can start with a low-lift hand truck, add a high-lift hand truck when it moves to racking, then move to electric trucks as throughput grows, all with one brand, one way of reading specifications and one point of contact for parts.

When to think carefully before choosing a Xilin hand pallet truck
Xilin hand pallet trucks suit most warehouses, but there are three situations to discuss carefully before ordering, because the right choice may be another Xilin series or a different type of truck altogether.
A customer or warehouse owner requires a specific brand. Some exporters receive equipment standards from overseas customers, which may name a brand or a certification. Read that requirement carefully before buying, instead of comparing only on price.
Continuous, high-intensity operation. A manual hand truck is not suited to pulling heavy pallets over long distances through several shifts. In that case move to a low-lift or stand-on electric truck to reduce the load on workers and raise productivity.
Cold storage, clean rooms or areas with an explosion risk. A standard truck is not designed for these environments. Xilin has a cold storage series (the company says it works alternately across -30°C to 40°C, with waterproof electrical parts, cold-resistant hydraulic oil and anti-slip rubber wheels) and an explosion-proof series; state your warehouse conditions to get advice on the right series.
