Danpla plastic sheets can be applied in almost any industry that needs to pack, store or transport goods. Waterproof, reusable 50-100 times, 50% lighter than wood - this is why danpla is gradually replacing cardboard, wood and foam in internal supply chains. Below are the 8 main application sectors with specific analysis for each case.
1. Electronics and Semiconductor Industry
This is the industry that uses danpla the most in Vietnam, concentrated in the Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Binh Duong industrial parks. The specific requirement: you must use black ESD (anti-static) danpla meeting the IEC 61340-5-1 standard.
Main danpla products: 600x400mm ESD component boxes, ESD box dividers, EPA workbench mats, ESD slip sheets between tray layers. Samsung, LG and Canon plants in Bac Ninh require all packaging in the EPA zone to have ESD certification - without certification, goods are not accepted into the warehouse.
Advantages over alternatives: 70% cheaper than ESD aluminum boxes, 60% lighter, easy to resize. Compared with ESD foam boxes, danpla is harder, does not flake, and can be cleaned with IPA alcohol.
2. Logistics and Warehousing
The most common application by volume: pallet floor-lining sheets replacing cardboard and wood. A 5,000m² warehouse with 500 mobile pallets needs about 1,000-1,500 sheets of 4mm danpla to line between goods layers.
Real case study: A logistics company in Hai Phong switched from cardboard to danpla floor lining in 2024. Before: replacing cardboard every 3 weeks, costing VND 8 million/month for materials + 2 workers for 4 hours/week to collect and dispose of waste. After the switch: bought 800 sheets of 4mm danpla (VND 44 million initially), replacing 5% per year (VND 2.2 million/year). Saving VND 93 million/year on materials alone, not counting labor.
Main danpla products: 1220x2440mm floor-lining sheets (cut to pallet size), cardboard-style folding boxes, inter-layer sheets.
3. Textile and Footwear Industry
Danpla sheets are used to line fabric-roll boxes, as dividers in raw-material boxes, and as padding between fabric bales. The textile environment often has fabric dust and high humidity - danpla does not get damp or moldy and is easy to clean of fabric dust with compressed air or a cloth.
Footwear export: plants in Binh Duong and Long An use 3mm danpla sheets to line export cartons to increase stiffness and resist moisture from outside. The danpla sheet is placed on the bottom and four inner sides of the carton - a hybrid solution between the two materials, reducing cost compared with a full danpla box while still being stiff enough for sea export.
4. Automotive and Mechanical Engineering
Auto parts need surface protection throughout machining and transport between workshops. 4-5mm danpla sheets are stiff enough to line container floors, divide parts-storage trays, and serve as padding to protect painted surfaces.
Important feature: Danpla PP resists industrial oils, mild solvents, and temperatures of -20 to 60°C. Clean with soap or diluted solvent. It does not rust and is not attacked by termites - suitable for storing metals and mechanical parts.
5. Agriculture and Greenhouses
UV-resistant danpla is used for greenhouse walls, rain covers for nurseries, and water-channeling sheets in hydroponic systems. 10 times lighter than glass, easy to cut and assemble, and 5-8 times cheaper than glass.
Two-layer 4-6mm danpla sheets have a lower thermal conductivity than glass - retaining heat in the greenhouse at night better than single-layer glass. Outdoor service life with UV additive: 3-5 years. Suitable for small and medium greenhouse projects that do not need specialized glass investment.
6. Advertising and Printing
Signage, standees and event backdrops use 3-5mm danpla as a UV-print substrate. Advantages: light (easy to transport and install), waterproof (usable outdoors), and 40-60% cheaper than aluminum composite.
Printing techniques on danpla: direct UV flatbed printing (the most common), thermal transfer, applying decals after printing. UV printing gives sharp colors with a 2-3 year outdoor lifespan. A 1.5x3m UV printer can print directly onto a 1220x2440mm danpla sheet without pre-cutting.
7. Surface Protection in Construction
2-3mm danpla is used to protect granite floors and wood floors during interior finishing. Light, does not scratch the surface (the PP surface is softer than stone), and reusable across multiple projects.
Protecting glass doors and stone tabletops during transport and installation: danpla sheets cut to size, applied with double-sided tape. Lower cost than solid PE foam for the same effect, and reusable.
8. Medical and Cleanrooms
Virgin PP danpla contains no plasticizers, BPA or heavy metals - safe for ISO Class 7-8 cleanroom environments. It can be disinfected with UV light, 70% IPA alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide - the common methods in medical and semiconductor cleanrooms.
It does not rot or shed small particles (a major problem with EPS foam in cleanrooms), and its flat surface is easy to clean - PP danpla is gradually replacing the more expensive ABS plastic trays in many standard cleanroom applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can danpla be used in cold storage?
Yes. Danpla PP withstands temperatures from -20°C to 60°C. At typical cold-storage temperatures (-5 to -18°C), danpla does not become brittle or deform. No special type is needed; standard PP danpla is enough for cold storage.
2. Can danpla have direct food contact?
Virgin PP danpla is safe for food contact per FDA standards. You must request a food-grade certificate from the supplier. Black ESD danpla or recycled danpla is not for direct food contact.
3. Does ICD Vietnam deliver danpla to distant provinces?

4. What machine cuts danpla?
A fine-tooth circular saw (TCT blade), a sharp utility knife, a CNC router, or a heat knife. Danpla is easier to cut than wood and solid plastic - an ordinary worker can cut 2-3mm sheets with a good utility knife, while 4mm and thicker sheets need a circular saw.
