Before renting a hand pallet truck in Hanoi, settle four things: the truck type for your load and lift height, who repairs it when it breaks, its condition at handover and at return, and whether the rental period is long enough that buying makes more sense. The 2015 Civil Code already has default rules for the first three; this guide reads each article and shows how to write it into the contract. We do not list rental prices, because price depends on truck type and term.
The truck selection part is based on the specifications of the hand forklift ranges that ICD Vietnam distributes. Which models are available for rent, and on what terms, we confirm during consultation.
1. Choose the truck type by load and by warehouse
Three groups of hand trucks are common in warehouses: the low-lift hand pallet truck for moving pallets on the floor, the high-lift hand stacker for lifting pallets onto racking or a truck bed, and the table-top lift truck for moulds and parcels not placed on pallets. For the ICD BF-III 2.5-tonne low-lift hand truck, there are four wheel options: nylon, black PU, red PU and rubber. Blickle, a maker of industrial wheels, describes a polyurethane tread as non-marking and protective of floors, while nylon is hard, impact-resistant and corrosion-resistant. If you rent, ask in advance which wheel type comes with the truck, because wheels are the first part to wear with daily use. 2. Who is responsible when the truck breaks: reading the 2015 Civil Code
A hand truck rental is a property lease contract (Article 472). If the contract is silent, the Code applies the defaults in the table below. The last column points out where the contract should be specific, because the words “according to custom” in Article 477 do not say what counts as minor damage.

3. Rent or buy: work out the break-even yourself
We do not give a fixed threshold such as “rent if under so many days a month”, because there is no general figure for every warehouse. Instead use the calculation below with your own real quotations.
4. Delivery and collection from ICD Vietnam’s Hanoi warehouse
ICD Vietnam’s Hanoi warehouse is on Floor 3, Thang Long A1 building, Bau hamlet, Thien Loc commune, Hanoi. Frequently asked questions
1. Who repairs a rented hand truck when it breaks?
Under Article 477 of the 2015 Civil Code, the lessor repairs damage and defects not caused by the lessee, except minor damage that custom leaves to the lessee. The lessee handles maintenance and minor repairs (Article 479).
2. Do I pay for worn wheels after the rental?
No, if it is natural wear from normal use (Articles 479 and 482). Damage from misuse may have to be compensated; photos at handover help tell the two apart.
3. Can I let another company use the rented truck?
Only if the lessor agrees, under Article 475.
