Wooden Pallet Price Guide 2026: How Much Does a Wood Pallet Cost?

Wooden pallet prices differ several times over between used pallets and new export-grade pallets, and depend mainly on 5 factors: wood species, size and structure, new or used condition, ISPM 15 treatment requirements and order quantity. The table below is a reference by common pallet type; the exact price for your order is quoted by ICD Vietnam based on actual size, load rating and quantity.

A wooden pallet is a wood load board used to support and secure goods during transport and storage by forklift or pallet truck. The table below summarises reference price levels by pallet type, including used wooden pallets for budget needs:

The comparisons below draw on public quotations from domestic pallet workshops between July 2025 and May 2026, for common single-face pallet sizes. Pallets built to custom sizes, with thicker boards, painted or logo-printed, fall outside these comparisons.

Prices for 1200 x 1000 and 1100 x 1100 Wooden Pallets and Used Pallets

The two sizes asked about most are 1200 x 1000 mm and 1100 x 1100 mm. At the same size, the price can still differ by a factor of two between a thin-board one-way acacia pallet and a thick-board pallet with large blocks meant for long-term storage. So when comparing two quotes for 1200 x 1000 mm, ask about the number of top boards, board thickness and load rating rather than looking only at the price per piece.

A used wooden pallet usually costs about half to two thirds of a new pallet of the same size, depending on how new it is, how many boards have been replaced and whether the pallet still carries an IPPC mark. Used pallets suit domestic goods, temporary storage and one-way cargo; for export cargo, check the mark under ISPM 15 as explained below.

How many kilograms a wooden pallet weighs is also a good basis for comparing prices, because weight reflects the actual amount of wood. According to ICD Vietnam’s product pages, an 800 x 600 x 144 mm pallet weighs about 10 kg, an 800 x 1200 x 144 mm pallet about 25 kg, a 1200 x 1000 x 156 mm pallet about 30 kg and a 1200 x 1000 x 162 mm pallet about 35 kg, with a tolerance of about 5%. A pallet of the same size that is clearly lighter usually uses less wood, costs less and carries a lower load.

What Determines Wooden Pallet Prices

Wood Species

Wood species decides most of the material cost. Acacia and melaleuca from domestic plantations are plentiful and so cheapest; pine is light, good-looking and easy to work but costs more; hardwoods such as dipterocarp and camphor are durable and strong, so they are the most expensive.

Size and Structure

Large pallets, thick boards or 4-way entry cost more because they use more wood and more labour. ICD Vietnam’s wooden pallet range has 4 main structures. A single-face 2-way pallet is the simplest, made to the requested size, with a dynamic load of 500 kg and a static load of 1,000 kg, suited to light goods, floor-stacked storage and one-way export cargo. A double-face 2-way pallet adds a bottom deck so it sits firmly on floors and conveyors, used when goods are heavy or stacked several tiers high. A single-face 4-way pallet, in the standard and the locked-leg versions, lets forklifts enter from all 4 sides, suited to warehouses with narrow aisles. The notched-leg version keeps the stringer structure and cuts slots in the stringers for the forklift tines where 4-way entry is still needed.

Quantity and Export Requirements

Every order has fixed costs such as setting up a jig for a custom size, ISPM 15 treatment for export cargo and the delivery trip; with a large order these costs are spread over more pieces, so ICD Vietnam applies volume discounts. A pallet for export cargo must use debarked wood, treated under the IPPC’s ISPM 15 standard, most commonly heat treatment until the wood core reaches at least 56 °C for 30 continuous minutes, and marked with the IPPC stamp, so it costs more than a domestic pallet of the same size.

Standard Wooden Pallet Sizes and Load Ratings at ICD Vietnam

For standard sizes, load rating and pallet weight are the best basis for comparing prices: a heavier pallet uses more wood and is usually more expensive. Specifications follow ICD Vietnam’s product pages (October 2026); all are single-face, 4-way pallets, with prices quoted by quantity:

Dynamic load is the weight the pallet carries while being moved by a forklift; static load is when it rests on the floor or is stacked. The 1200 x 1000 x 156 mm pallet has a static load of 6,000 kg even though it is lighter than the 162 mm model, so when comparing quotes between suppliers, ask for both the pallet weight and the cross-section of the boards and blocks: the same size with less wood costs less and carries a lower load.

Criteria for Judging Wooden Pallet Quality

A pallet at a good price only matters if it is usable. First, the size must fit the warehouse racking, the container and the forklift tines in use. Dynamic load must be enough for the weight of goods on each pallet, and static load must be enough if you stack them. The wood should be dried and protected against termites and weevils; for export cargo, the pallet must be treated under ISPM 15 and carry a clear IPPC mark. Finally there is the finish: no protruding nails, no cracked boards, no surface mould.

How to Get a Wooden Pallet Quote Quickly from ICD Vietnam
