A steel-core plastic pallet is a one-piece plastic pallet with steel bars set inside the runners, so it stays stiffer and carries heavier loads than an ordinary plastic pallet. ICD lists one model in English, the 1200 x 1000 x 150 mm PL10-LK: 2,400 kg dynamic load, 5,000 kg static load, 18.6 kg, priced at 850,000 VND per pallet.

1. Steel-core models and load ratings
Two more steel-core models of the same size are sold in Vietnam and quoted on request: PL12 and IPS PL10-2. Ratings below are taken from ICD product pages (22/10/2026).

PL10-LK comes in blue, red, yellow, black and grey, which helps colour-code warehouse zones, and all three models accept logo or company-name printing. PL12 is the only one with a published racking load and a UV-stabilised HDPE body.
2. When a steel core is worth it
The clearest case is a dynamic load above 2 tonnes, such as moulds, metal billets or heavy coils. Of the 64 plastic pallets in ICD’s English catalogue, only 2 list a dynamic load as high as 2,400 kg, and none goes higher; the other one is in warehouse storage pallets.
The second case is beam racking, where the pallet is supported only at two edges and the middle has to carry the load. The steel bars reduce sag in that position, but the figure to check is the racking load: PL12 is rated 1,200 kg, while PL10-LK has no published racking load, so ask ICD before putting it on beams. 3. What to confirm before ordering
Match your load to the right rating: dynamic for lifting and moving, static for standing on the floor, racking for sitting on beams (see static vs dynamic load). Measure the beam spacing, because a racking rating holds only for the spacing used in the test. For conveyors, AGVs or automated storage, dimensional tolerance is not published, so ask ICD for written confirmation before a large order.

ICD’s steel-core models weigh 18.6-21 kg. Among ICD’s 1200 x 1000 x 150 mm models without a steel core, 33 publish a weight: the median is 16.6 kg, ranging from 10 kg to 26.5 kg.
4. Can a plastic pallet with steel be used in cold storage?
PL12 is listed for cold rooms and seafood freezer stores; for very damp or very cold sites, ask ICD first.
