A reliable wooden pallet company has to meet four verifiable conditions: a real production workshop, ISPM 15 treatment and stamping through a facility recognised by the plant protection authority, on-time delivery to your factory area, and quotations broken down by wood type, specification and load rating. This article shows how to check each one before you choose a supplier, with the ICD Vietnam company profile for you to cross-check.
For businesses that order in volume or on a regular schedule, wooden pallets are a recurring operating cost. Choosing the wrong supplier not only raises the price but brings the risk of late delivery, damp wood that moulds in the container, or pallets with no treatment mark that get an export shipment held at the destination port. That is why we do not give a ranking of companies, and instead focus on how to verify for yourself so you can assess any supplier, ICD Vietnam included.
Types of wooden pallet suppliers on the market
When you look for a wooden pallet company you will meet three main types. The first is the direct manufacturing workshop, which saws its own battens and builds pallets and so controls wood moisture and schedule. The second is the trading company, which takes the order and passes it to another workshop; this is not wrong, but when an order is urgent or a lot has defects it depends on the third workshop and finds it hard to commit to timing. The third is business directory sites, which only list names and phone numbers and are not places to buy.

The biggest difference between suppliers usually lies not in the list price but in three factors: the source of the timber (buying pre-sawn battens or sawing from round logs), the way ISPM 15 is handled (a treatment facility on site or sending to a licensed provider) and the delivery coverage (serving one province only or reaching several regions).
4 criteria you must check before choosing a supplier
The four criteria to check are a real production workshop, the ISPM 15 process, delivery coverage and how transparent the quotation is; each has a concrete way to verify it.
1. A real production workshop
Ask for the workshop address, photos or video of the production line and ask to visit before placing a large order, instead of trusting the website alone. A middleman usually has only an office and finds it hard to control schedule when an order is urgent.

2. ISPM 15 treatment and stamping
The ISPM 15 mark is mandatory for wooden pallets travelling with export cargo to countries that apply this standard, such as the US, the EU, Japan and Australia. Ask the supplier whether it treats on its own recognised premises or sends to a licensed provider, because this affects delivery time. On method, the European Union has banned the use of methyl bromide (MB) inside the bloc since 18 March 2010, but still accepts imported pallets treated by heat treatment (HT) or MB in line with ISPM 15.
3. Delivery coverage
If a business has factories in several provinces, ask the supplier which regions it can deliver to and how long each takes, instead of having to deal with several different contacts. A clear commitment on time by region is easier to check than a vague answer of “nationwide delivery”.
4. Quotation broken down by specification
A quotation must separate wood type, dimensions, load rating, ISPM 15 treatment cost and transport. A single price that does not distinguish wood quality is very hard to compare between suppliers. See the 2026 wooden pallet price guide for the factors that make up the price before you ask for a quote.
So that you do not have to rely entirely on a recommendation, you can ask the supplier for the following evidence:
| What to check | Evidence to ask for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Production workshop | Workshop address, photos or video of the line, visit schedule | Middlemen usually have only an office |
| ISPM 15 capability | ISPM 15 mark printed on a sample pallet, the treatment provider code on the mark | The mark must show the IPPC symbol, country code VN, provider code and treatment code; never hand-drawn |
| Wood moisture | Moisture meter readings on a sample board | Wet wood moulds easily in a container |
| ISO 9001 | A valid certificate in the correct legal entity name | A management system certification, not a product quality certification |
| FSC | Chain of custody (CoC) certificate if the buyer requires sustainably sourced wood | Needed only when the contract requires it |
| Quotation | Price broken down by wood type, dimensions, load rating, ISPM 15 treatment and transport | A single price is hard to compare |
According to the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), ISPM 15 treatment and stamping must be run under the control of the national plant protection authority; the provider code printed on the mark is the basis for tracing the facility that treated a lot of pallets. As for ISO 9001, remember it is a certification of a company’s quality management system, not of each lot of product, so pallet quality still has to be checked by specification, moisture content and load rating.
ICD Vietnam company profile for you to cross-check
ICD Vietnam is the trading name of ICD Vietnam Industrial Manufacturing Co., Ltd., tax code 0105547551. We have a production workshop, a Hanoi warehouse at 3rd Floor, Thang Long A1 Building, Bau Hamlet, Thien Loc Commune, and a southern workshop at 551/212 Le Van Khuong Street, Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

Here is how ICD meets the four criteria above, so you can verify it as you would for any supplier:
- Real workshop: you can arrange to visit the workshop and warehouse before placing a large order.
- ISPM 15: ICD does not fumigate itself; export pallets are treated and stamped with the IPPC mark through a licensed provider, and the mark shows the country code, treatment facility code and method.
- Delivery: orders are processed in 1 - 2 days; 1 - 3 days within Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, 2 - 5 days between regions and 3 - 7 days to other provinces.
- Quotation: contact for a quote by wood type, specification and treatment requirement, with volume discounts; wooden pallets carry no warranty but can be exchanged or returned within 7 days.

In September 2026, ICD Vietnam took part in the Vietnam International Industry Exhibition (VIIF 2026) at the National Exhibition Centre (VEC), Dong Anh, Hanoi, booth D05 - D06, Hall 3, and displayed wooden pallet samples; earlier we were also at the VILOG 2026 exhibition. It was a chance for customers to see the pallet samples in person and check the boards and nail joints before ordering.
ICD Vietnam wooden pallet products by need
ICD Vietnam supplies four lines of wooden pallets, each suited to a different need: the 1200 x 800 mm size for cargo going to Europe, acacia and rubberwood for large-quantity orders, and tram wood for pallets used over many cycles.

- 800 x 1200 x 144 mm wooden pallet: dimensions 800 x 1200 x 144 mm, a common specification for cargo going to Europe.
- Acacia wooden pallet: stable hardness, widely used for export cargo.
- Rubberwood pallet: can be given ISPM 15 treatment when needed, suits large-quantity orders.
- Tram wood pallet: durable, suited to businesses that need pallets used over many cycles.
Worked example: ordering wooden pallets for a 40 ft export container shipment
A 40 ft container holds 20 - 25 pallets of 1200 x 800 mm per layer depending on loading pattern, while a 20 ft container holds 8 - 11 pallets. The table below is based on the container interior dimensions published by the shipping line Hapag-Lloyd (20 ft: 5,900 x 2,352 mm; 40 ft: 12,032 x 2,350 mm), one layer of pallets, before handling clearances:
| Container | Straight loading, 2 rows (1200 side along the container) | Mixed loading (1 row across, 1 row along) | How the mixed loading is calculated |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 ft | 8 pallets (2 x 4) | 11 pallets | 5,900 : 800 = 7 pieces + 5,900 : 1,200 = 4 pieces, taking up 2,000 mm of width |
| 40 ft | 20 pallets (2 x 10) | 25 pallets | 12,032 : 800 = 15 pieces + 12,032 : 1,200 = 10 pieces, taking up 2,000 mm of width |
The real number may be lower because clearance must be left for forklift handling and cargo bracing. When cargo can be stacked two layers high, the number of pallets doubles, but check that the total cargo weight does not exceed the container’s permitted load. Businesses that export regularly should fix pallet orders in multiples of containers so the delivery schedule matches the loading schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What criteria must a reliable wooden pallet company meet?
Four core criteria: a real production workshop (not just collecting orders), ISPM 15 treatment and stamping through a recognised facility for export cargo, on-time delivery to your factory area, and a quotation broken down by wood type, specification and load rating.
When buying wooden pallets in volume, should you choose a company with a workshop or a middleman?
Prefer a company with its own production workshop. A middleman that takes the order and passes it to another workshop usually finds it hard to commit to timing when you are in a hurry and hard to control the quality of each lot, because it depends on a third workshop.
Why do wooden pallet prices differ between companies?
For the same specification, prices differ mainly because of the wood type and the moisture content of the incoming wood, whether ISPM 15 treatment is included, and the transport cost to the delivery point. Ask for a quote broken down item by item so you compare correctly.
Can ICD Vietnam fill large-quantity wooden pallet orders?
Yes. ICD Vietnam has a production workshop, a Hanoi warehouse and a southern workshop, and supplies acacia, rubberwood and tram wood pallets and the 1200 x 800 mm specification; export pallets are given ISPM 15 treatment through a licensed provider. Price: contact for a quote, with volume discounts.
How do you know a pallet has been given valid ISPM 15 treatment?
A valid mark has the IPPC symbol, the country code (VN for Vietnam), the treatment facility code and the method code (HT or MB), printed or applied with a die, never hand-drawn. Treatment and stamping must be run under the control of the national plant protection authority.
Does an ISO 9001 certificate guarantee pallet quality?
Not directly. ISO 9001 certifies a company’s quality management system, not a product. The quality of each lot of pallets still has to be checked by specification, wood moisture, load rating and the ISPM 15 mark.
How many 1200 x 800 mm wooden pallets fit in a 20 ft container?
Based on an interior of 5,900 x 2,352 mm, a 20 ft container holds 8 pallets of 1200 x 800 mm if loaded straight in 2 rows, and up to 11 pallets if loaded mixed with one row across and one row along, for one layer of pallets.
