A spill containment pallet is an HDPE pallet with a sealed sump under a removable grid deck, so oil or chemicals leaking from drums stay in the tray instead of reaching the floor. The model listed in English is ICD’s 4-drum spill containment pallet, 1300×1300×300 mm, priced at 4,500,000 VND. For goods that are not liquids, ICD’s standard plastic pallets cost far less.
1. Choosing a 2-drum or 4-drum spill pallet

All three use about 0.43 m² of floor per drum, so the 4-drum model saves money per drum position rather than floor space. The two 1300×660 mm versions place two drums in a row, which fits along a wall or at a filling point; they are listed on ICD’s Vietnamese site. A 1-drum code, a low-wall 4-drum version and an IBC spill pallet have no price on the website yet; send the number of drums or the tote size for a quote.
2. Sump capacity against a full 200-litre drum
The outer volumes above are length × width × height. The real sump holds less, because the tray walls, ribs and grid take up space, and ICD has not published sump capacity in litres. Even so, the 150 mm version cannot hold the whole contents of a punctured 200-litre drum; it suits catching drips during dispensing. If your site must document containment volume, ask ICD for the sump figure before ordering.
3. Load ratings and moving full drums
Liquid mass equals litres times the specific gravity on the safety data sheet (SDS). With a 1,000 kg dynamic load, the 4-drum pallet can be moved with four 200-litre drums only when specific gravity is 1.25 or less, before counting drum weight; the 300 mm 2-drum version reaches the same limit with two drums. When moving a loaded pallet, pick from hand pallet trucks rated above the drums plus the pallet.
4. How much containment the rules require
In the United States, 40 CFR 264.175 asks hazardous-waste container storage to hold 10% of the total volume or the volume of the largest container, whichever is greater: 200 litres for four 200-litre drums. Vietnam’s Amendment 1:2024 to QCVN 05A:2020/BCT, in force from 15 April 2025, sets at least 110% of the largest container for stored corrosive and toxic liquids, which is 220 litres. The Vietnamese amendment also requires that spilled chemicals cannot reach substances they react with, so acids and alkalis belong on separate pallets. The 150 mm 2-drum and the 4-drum models come in eight colours, one per chemical group. The sump is HDPE, so check compatibility on the SDS or send the SDS to ICD. Empty drums and dry goods can sit on warehouse storage pallets.
5. IBC totes need a larger sump
At 110%, a 1,000-litre IBC needs about 1,100 litres of containment, far beyond the 4-drum pallet. ICD sells the ICD IBC 1000 tote.
