A high-lift truck carries a mast and chain, so it weighs 223-250 kg against a far lighter low-profile jack. If the job is moving pallets from a truck into the warehouse, a low-profile jack is enough; putting a pallet on a rack needs the high-lift type.
2. How the hydraulic pump works
Pumping the handle compresses oil, which pushes the piston and raises the forks. Moving the lever opens the release valve, the oil returns to the reservoir and the pallet lowers. A steel frame holds the geometry, the forks carry the pallet, a large rear wheel steers and small wheels under the fork tips share the load. 3. When a powered truck makes sense
Manual jacks rely on the operator. If a shift pulls dozens of pallets or stacks continuously at height, the operator becomes the limit and an electric truck begins to pay back. Below that, a manual jack costs far less to run.
