A closed-deck plastic pallet, also called a solid-deck pallet, has a top made of one continuous sheet of plastic with no gaps, so small cartons, sacks and loose items sit flat and nothing drops through. In English, ICD Vietnam currently lists one model in this range: a 1200×1200×78 mm HDPE floor pallet in red, yellow, blue or green. It sits within ICD’s wider range of plastic pallets for warehouses and factories.
1. The 1200×1200×78 mm closed-deck floor pallet
The ICD closed-deck floor pallet 1200×1200×78 mm is a single-deck HDPE board with a square footprint. At 78 mm it is much lower than a standard pallet, and ICD notes that it is too thin for forklift tines to enter. Use it as a raised floor for ground-level storage, display and staging areas, not for lifting loads.
The four colours help mark zones on a production floor, for example raw materials, finished goods and items on hold.
2. When a closed deck is worth the extra plastic
A solid top uses more plastic than a grid, so it weighs and costs more for the same size. It pays off when goods could slip into grid cells, when powder sacks must not leak through, and when the deck is washed often and inspected by eye. Where water must drain or cold air must reach the load, an open-deck plastic pallet fits better. For very low, wide boards used to cover a floor, see floor-lining plastic pallets.
3. Closed decks in food and pharmaceutical plants
HACCP and GMP are plant-wide management systems; a pallet does not carry its own certificate. A closed deck still works in such plants if you choose virgin plastic and get written confirmation of the material from the supplier. See plastic pallets in pharma and food industries for how plants zone pallets.
ICD’s Vietnamese catalogue also has forklift-entry closed-deck models in 1200×1200, 1200×1000, 1200×800 and 1100×1100 mm, not yet listed in English; ask sales for specifications.

5. Frequently asked questions about closed-deck plastic pallets
1. What is the difference between a closed deck and a semi-closed deck?
A semi-closed deck is mostly flat but keeps small holes or slots for drainage and grip. A closed deck has no openings at all, which suits fine powders and items that could catch in a slot.
2. Why choose a closed-deck plastic pallet over a closed-deck wooden pallet?
Wooden closed decks are made of boards laid side by side, so narrow joints remain and the wood absorbs moisture. A moulded plastic deck has no joints and can be hosed down.
3. How much weight can the 78 mm floor pallet hold?
No load rating is published for this model. Send the weight and footprint of your load and ICD will confirm whether it is suitable.
4. Can closed-deck pallets carry a company logo?
Colour choice is standard on this model. For logo or name printing on plastic pallets, see custom logo printing on plastic pallets and ask sales about minimum quantities.
