Warehouse storage plastic pallets are rack-rated virgin HDPE pallets built for selective and drive-in racking, reach-truck handling and high-bay storage. ICD supplies them in 1100×1100 mm and 1200×1000 mm, with dynamic load 1,500 kg, static load 4,000 kg and a beam-rack (unsupported) load of 1,000 kg. They are 4-way entry, washable and cold-store rated to -40C. This is the default line for industrial warehouses; for racking above 1,000 kg per level use steel-core pallets instead. Choose warehouse storage pallets when:
- Selective / drive-in racking with reach trucks: rigid deck holds shape across the beam gap, no sag under a full unit load.
- High turnover distribution centres: 4-way entry speeds up put-away and picking from any aisle direction.
- Cold and chilled stores: virgin HDPE stays tough to -40C and survives pressure-wash sanitation between cycles.
1. Warehouse storage pallet specifications
Specs below are for the two standard footprints. The deciding figure for racking is the beam-rack load, not the static (floor-stacked) load.

Racking load is for a standard 2-bar beam rack with the pallet unsupported across the span. Loads measured at 20-25C.
2. Racking compatibility – the figure most buyers miss
The number that matters for storage pallets is the beam-rack (unsupported) load, not the static load. A pallet rated 4,000 kg static on the floor may only carry 1,000 kg safely when supported on two beams, because the deck spans an open gap and deflects in the middle.
Selective racking: the pallet rests on two front-to-back beams. Use the racking figure (1,000 kg) as the ceiling and keep a 20% safety margin, so plan for around 800 kg per position.
Drive-in / drive-through racking: the pallet is supported only by its edge rails on side rails. Confirm the rail contact length and never rely on the centre deck for support.
Wire-deck or solid-shelf racking: the shelf carries the load, so the static figure applies and you can use the full 4,000 kg.
For automated high-bay (AS-RS) or AGV lines, standard moulding tolerance (+/-3-5 mm) is too loose – switch to steel-core pallets with a +/-1-2 mm tolerance certificate.

4. Material and cold storage
Warehouse storage pallets are moulded in virgin HDPE, which keeps its toughness down to -40C. Do not substitute recycled HDPE or PP for racking in cold rooms: both turn brittle below -5C to -10C and can crack at the deck-to-foot junction under a racked load. If you also need a flat top for powder or small cartons, pair this line with closed deck pallets; for produce and drainage use open deck pallets. Versus wooden pallets, plastic storage pallets keep a consistent height and squareness over years of racking, which matters for automated retrieval.

Yes – virgin HDPE is rated to -40C and is pressure-washable. Do not use recycled HDPE or PP on racking in freezers; they go brittle in sub-zero temperatures.
4. Are warehouse storage pallets suitable for AS-RS or AGV?
Not directly. Automated systems need +/-1-2 mm tolerance; standard pallets run +/-3-5 mm. Use steel-core pallets with a tolerance certificate for automation.
